Summer 2017, 2 summers after our family when to Israel, I was lucky to go to Israel again on a women trip. For me this trip was meant for the renewal of my soul and reconnecting with self. Ladies if you are Jewish and get a chance to go on a JWRP, now call MOMentum, a global movement focused on the greatest influence- the Jewish mother. Here are some excerpts of my week long trip.
As the women started to arrive at the airport excitement filled the air. Tears of joy streamed down faces that a transformation has begun. A jet lagged, excited and a happy 36 women, boarded a bus and started the journey of a lifetime. With us, Palm Beach Gardens and Israel, are headed for Tiberius with our fantastic city leaders. Patrick, our fearless tour guide, entertained us with his wit, the history of Israel and why we are the “mecca” of the world.
Once we arrived and checked into our hotel, we boarded our bus and whisked away to our first lecture. There, we met the leaders and the lovely Lori Palatnik who spoke to us about “Gossip, Lies and Lessons”. The message resonated with many of us in how we can control our own contribution to gossip and disengage for the rhetoric. A powerful lesson we all can ascribe to, learn from and put into action.
Dinner on the Decks. This is hard to put into words how amazing it was in to be with 200 women for one purpose. Every human culture has music, just as each has language. So is true that music is a universal feature of the human experience? Yes, it was last night. As the music started, kinetic energy whipped through the air and in that moment, who we were, what city we were from, disappeared and we were sisters. Dancing, laughing and we were one; a beautiful moment under the stars, in one of the four holiest places in Israel. It could not have been a better way to the start the journey. #itstartswithwomen #JWCAtlanta #summer2017
